Web design & redesign

A website that doesn’t look like a template.

I design modern websites and redesigns for authors, creative brands and smaller companies that need to communicate their value clearly and look professional.

Bespoke design, no bought template Just as usable on a phone as on a large screen Fixed price confirmed after the initial brief

What you get

A website has three jobs. The rest is detail.

A professional first impression

Visitors make up their minds in a few seconds. I design the website to feel solid and trustworthy from that very first moment — not like something assembled from a ready-made template they have already seen five times.

A clear path to contact or order

Every page has one main goal: to write to you, to order, to sign up. I arrange the content so people know what to do without having to look for it.

A fast, working website on every device

Most people arrive on a phone. So I build the website to load fast, be easy to use with a thumb and look just as good on a phone as on a large monitor.

Examples

Selected work

Two very different briefs — an author website built around a book and a product website with its own configurator. Both are live, so you can explore them.

Desktop version of veravane.sk with the book visual. Mobile version of veravane.sk with the same visual stacked vertically.

Author website & book launch

Vera Vane

A one-page website for an author and her book Napriek všetkému. The dark atmosphere follows the cover; the page leads through the author’s introduction, a book excerpt and a playlist to a single goal — ordering the book.

Desktop version of FlagRack with the main headline, a call to configure and a usage gallery. Mobile version of FlagRack with the Configure your FlagRack and See it in action buttons stacked vertically.

Product website & customer journey

FlagRack

A website for modular language badges. The product is explained on the very first screen, followed by the 2F / 3F / 4F variants and examples of use in hotels, retail and airports — and the whole page leads to the configurator and the order. Bilingual SK / EN interface.

Open slot

Your project could be next.

I take on a limited number of websites at a time, so each one gets a real design and not just a rearranged template. Tell me what you need — I’ll tell you straight whether I can do it and for how much.

Pricing

Simple packages. Clear scope.

Every project is a little different, so the prices are a starting point. I confirm the exact, fixed price after the initial brief, once I know how many sections and pages the website will have and what needs to be prepared.

For a single service, personal brand, book, product or campaign.

  • one longer page with up to about 6 sections

What to choose

A new website or a redesign?

You don’t always have to start from scratch. If you’re not sure, go through these two lists — and if they point both ways, write to me and we’ll talk it through.

A new website makes sense when:

  • the brand doesn’t have a website yet;
  • the existing site can’t reasonably be saved;
  • the brand’s direction or offer is changing.

A redesign makes sense when:

  • the foundation works but looks dated;
  • the content is confusing;
  • the mobile version is weak;
  • visitors don’t know what to do.

Process

Five steps you’ll know about in advance

  1. Brief and goals

    We go through what the website should achieve, who it’s for and what you already have. That gives us the scope and a fixed price.

  2. Structure and visual direction

    I propose the order of sections and pages and we agree on a visual direction, so nothing is designed blindly.

  3. Design and build

    The real site takes shape — visuals, copy in place, responsive behaviour and technical foundations.

  4. Feedback and testing

    We go through the website together. I apply the agreed feedback and test it on phone, tablet and desktop.

  5. Launch

    Deployment to your domain, a final live check and handover with an explanation of what you can edit yourself.

Scope

What’s included and what’s handled separately

Every package includes:

  • a bespoke visual design, not a bought template;
  • a responsive build for phone, tablet and desktop;
  • basic technical SEO — titles, descriptions, heading structure, sitemap;
  • a contact form with basic spam protection;
  • placing the copy and images you supply;
  • image optimisation and a basic speed check;
  • a pre-launch check and deployment to your hosting;
  • the number of feedback rounds in your chosen package.

Agreed and quoted separately:

  • copywriting or extensive editing;
  • extra pages beyond the package;
  • additional language versions;
  • newsletter integration;
  • a booking system;
  • an e-shop;
  • a custom configurator;
  • advanced integrations with external systems;
  • ongoing maintenance and care;
  • domain, hosting and paid fonts or photos — these are paid directly to the provider and stay in your name.

None of this is quietly folded into the price, and I won’t invoice any of it without agreeing with you first.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to provide before we start?

It helps most if you tell me what the website should achieve and who it’s for. Then your logo if you have one, copy or at least the points you want to make, photos or product images and access to your domain and hosting. If anything is missing, we’ll go through it at the start and fill the gaps.

Do you help with copy and structure?

With structure, yes — that’s part of the work: I propose the order of sections and what should stand out most. I edit and trim the copy you supply so it fits the design. Writing copy from scratch or larger copywriting jobs are a separate item we agree on in advance.

Are domain and hosting included in the price?

No. Domain and hosting are paid directly to the provider and stay in your name, so you keep control of your website. I’ll help you choose and set them up, and I’ll deploy the site.

Will I be able to edit the content?

Everyday edits to text and images you can do yourself — at handover I’ll show you where and how. If you already know you’ll change content often without touching code, tell me at the start; I’ll design the solution and price accordingly.

Roughly how long does it take?

It depends on the scope and on how quickly materials and feedback arrive. I confirm a specific date only after the initial brief, once I know how many sections and pages the website will have. I don’t promise a deadline I couldn’t keep.

What happens after launch?

After launch I check the website on phone and desktop and fix anything that only shows up in real use. Further changes, extensions or ongoing care are a separate agreement — not an automatic monthly fee you didn’t know about.

Enquiry

Tell me what your website should achieve.

Write me a few lines about the project — what you offer, who it’s for and what the website should do. I’ll come back with what makes sense, the scope and a fixed price.

Not sure yet?

Send me your current website and I’ll prepare a short mini audit with three concrete recommendations.

It’s one short piece of written feedback by e-mail — not ongoing free consulting.
